A Date with Hades

This series is referencing Victorian superstitions and Greek burial rites and mythologies - all sprinkled into a sequential love story. Excluding symbolism, this series is simply about a girl preparing for her date: she gets a call from him, dolls herself up, brings money for her cab fare, and leaves to go on her date. This, of course, is expanded upon to include Charon’s obol and above stated references, and is about a girl who is preparing her mortal body so that her soul may go on a date with Hades.

All pieces are 14.75” x 18.75” framed and tri color gum bichromate on watercolor paper. 2019.
